Press Release: The Prodigal’s Son: Crackhead to Jesus Finds Success

The Prodigal’s Son: Crackhead to Jesus Freak Book 1: Addiction Recovery Support Series

The realities of addiction by critically acclaimed author, S.E. Tschritter.

NOW ON PRE-SALE WITH A RELEASE IN JANUARY 2026

At 1:30 a.m. Samantha Evans received the phone call every spouse dreads. “Mrs. Evans, this is a sergeant with the police department. There’s been an accident.” Six hours later, she received another call. “Mrs. Evans, this is a nurse at the hospital. We found something on the cat scan.”

Instead of preaching that Sunday, Pastor Clint Evans went to jail with a BAC of .24, a cancer diagnosis, and a felony charge of fleeing police. The Prodigal’s Son: Crackhead to Jesus Freak chronicles a Christian’s lifelong battle against demons, addictions, and unworthiness. This story portrays a God who steals the show with a backlash of grace toward a man whom others branded “unredeemable.”

The Prodigal’s Son flings church doors open wide to the world’s misfits and challenges pew-squater saints to stop measuring their godly perfection against the dirty, homeless and addicted. From gutter to pulpit to ditch to grace to grave, The Prodigal’s Son speaks volumes of God’s furious love for the world’s castoffs.

This is a story of a pastor arrested for drunk driving. The effects of alcoholism on families are staggering. “My wife hid her addiction from me,” “My husband hid his alcoholism.” Millions of men and women are affected by drug addiction. Do you crave hope amidst an addictionbattle? Are you looking for recovery support? If you found out your husband’s an addict, or your wife’s an alcoholic and you’re grieving your spouse’s addiction, look no further than The Prodigal’s Son: Crackhead to Jesus Freak. Within these pages, you’ll find hope. You’ll close the cover knowing you are not alone. Whether you’ve judged addicts, or you’re the addict who’s been judged, this book is a page-turning, must-read.

Press Release: Peace, Love, & Murder: The Charles Manson Story by Alan R Warren!

Peace, Love, & Murder

The Charles Manson Story

An investigative account of one of the darkest times of the 1960’s by best-selling True Crime Novelist and radio personality, Alan R. Warren

Released by House of Mystery

The book is available worldwide in paperback and e-book format

In the late 1960s, America’s promise of peace, love, and freedom collided with a nightmare that would forever change the nation. At the center of it was Charles Manson—failed musician, self-styled guru, and one of the most infamous figures in criminal history.
Peace, Love, and Murder: The Charles Manson Story goes beyond the familiar headlines to reveal untold details about Manson, his followers, and the culture that allowed him to thrive. Alan R. Warren explores how the chaos and counterculture of San Francisco and Los Angeles in the 1960s created the perfect storm for Manson’s rise.

Through meticulous research and vivid storytelling, Warren also shines a light on the lives of Manson’s “Family.” Each member’s background is explored, showing how personal struggles, vulnerabilities, and the allure of belonging drew them into Manson’s orbit—and into history’s most shocking crimes.

This is more than a true crime story. It’s the unsettling account of how an era built on dreams of love and freedom gave rise to murder and madness.

CREATIVE EDGE PUBLICITY IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE MULTIPLE REPRESENTED WINNERS IN THE 2025 GLOBAL BOOK AWARDS!!!!

The 2025 Global Book Awards for Self-Published Authors.

Featuring our medal winners and finalists in each of their categories.

The Global Awards aim to discover new talent as well as recognize fine examples of self-published books. As such, we hope they will give self-published authors the recognition they deserve, whether that is in their writing creativity, or in the way they have marketed their books to attract new readers.

In this modern age of self-publishing, books need to be appraised not only by their content and writing style, but also by the way they present and market themselves to the prospective buyer, whether that is in the good ratings it has on important stores like Amazon, its book cover and description, or the number of reviews it has collected. They must also appeal to new readers so part of the evaluation included a survey asking avid readers to select the top 5 books they enjoyed the most.

Press Release: Spectacularly Mediocre Maisey by Kalee Boisvert

Spectacularly Mediocre Maisey

Meet Maisey, the newest children book sensation by critically acclaimed author and Financial Expert Kalee Boisvert

The book is available worldwide in print format

Maisey isn’t the best at… well, anything.
Not at cartwheels.
Not at singing.
Not even at tying her shoes quickly.

But what Maisey is great at?
Trying.
Laughing.
And diving into life with her whole, wonderfully wiggly self.

So when her school’s talent show sign-up sheet goes up, Maisey writes her name without a second thought. She has no plan—just the feeling that it could be fun. While everyone else seems to have their “thing,” Maisey’s attempts at piano, karate, and gymnastics turn into hilarious disasters. And when her friend Evie has a stage-fright stumble, Maisey does what she does best: she shows up with heart.

With a burst of creativity (and a pile of pool noodles, cardboard, and tape), Maisey builds something no one sees coming—a performance that isn’t about being the best at all, but about bringing everyone together.

A joyful, laugh-out-loud celebration of bravery, creativity, and trying new things just because they make you happy, Spectacularly Mediocre Maisey reminds kids that you don’t have to shine the brightest to light up a room. You just have to be you.

Perfect for readers who love:
• School talent show stories
• Celebrating quirky creativity
• Characters with big hearts and even bigger imaginations
• Books about confidence, courage, and being yourself

Spectacularly mediocre? Maybe.
Spectacularly Maisey? Absolutely.

As Russian military helicopters head across the American border to a remote Alaskan island Rake Ozenna is determined to protect his people and his land.

On the Norwegian-Russian border, Rake Ozenna finds a human ear sewn into the carcass of a reindeer. It’s not a warning, but an invitation to a war. Then it turns personal.

A firefight on the Russian-American border leads Rake Ozenna to evidence of a weapon that would cripple civilization as we know it.

On frozen battle grounds, Rake Ozenna takes on a lethal crime empire in a country intent on changing its past.

Who is Rake Ozenna

Rake Ozenna is an orphan raised in a tiny, remote Alaskan island community on the border with Russia. He is an officer in the Alaska National Guard, often seconded to special force operations. His roots give him a perspective and survival instincts few outsiders possess. His feelings are tightly contained. He is observant, controlled, patient and deeply loyal.

He instinctively understands cold, environment, distance, silence, and he has an ability to read people as a hunter reads his prey. That makes him dangerous to enemies and to any who believe power cannot be challenged. There is also a formidable woman whom he cannot get out of his mind.

Who is Humphrey Hawksley

As a BBC foreign correspondent, Humphrey Hawksley has covered crises all over the world. He is a regular panelist and speaker and hosts the fortnightly Democracy Forum debates. He has been guest lecturer at universities and think tanks such as the RAND Corporation, the Center for Strategic and International Studies and MENSA Cambridge. His other books include the best-selling Third World War future history series and the non-fiction Asian Waters: The Struggle Over the Indo-Pacific and the Challenge to American Power. Details of his work are on www.humphreyhawksley.com

Interview with Author James L Hill

1) Tell us a little bit about yourself. How did you get into writing?

I was born in the South Bronx. It was the late fifties/ early sixties. It was gang territory and everyone had to travel with their gang. My friends and I were into the Marvel comics, picking out our favorite superheroes to emulate. We drew out the figures, and I tried to write the next story to come. I guess I started writing fan fiction before it became fan fiction. I always had several stories running in my head and daily battles to fight.

2) What inspired you to write your book?

The Moth and Other Tantalizing Tales is a collection of short stories that encompasses about three decades of work. One day I was going through my file cabinet and decided I should publish some of these. I thought it would make a nice Christmas gift for my readers. It covers the different genres I have worked in and these stories are some of my best.

3) What theme or message do you hope readers will take away from your book?

That is hard to say because there are different themes and messages in each story. For example, Cold Storage is a precautionary tale about science and medicine not always working out for the better. While Antibody leaves the reader questioning ‘is the government’s use of science and medicine right if it serves the greater good’. The title story examines our idea of beauty and if people can change their behavior.

4) What drew you into this particular genre?

There are multiple genres in the book. I like to write in all of them. Usually, the story will dictate what genre it falls into.

5) If you could sit down with any character in your book, what would you ask them and why?

I would talk to Harry from The Moth and ask him why he didn’t just run. He let himself get pulled back into a world of crime right after getting out of jail. Was he really in love with Rachael? Was he trying to be Calliope’s hero? Or was he that afraid of what Blackie would do to him?

Advertisements

6) What social media site has been the most helpful in developing your readership?

I’m on Facebook the most. So, I guess they would be the most helpful. I post links to podcasts, interviews, plus any reviews I get there.

7) What advice would you give to aspiring or just starting authors out there?

Keep writing. So many write one book then sit back and wait for it to sell. After you write your first book start working on the next one. I usually have a couple of books in the works. Selling books is completely different from writing books. They are two different jobs, don’t get bogged down in the one and forget the other.

8) What does the future hold in store for you? Any new books/projects on the horizon?

I have to finish The Gemstone Series. I published The Ruby Cradle, the second book, June 2025. Now, I am working on The Diamond Warrior. I have a horror story in the works, The House of Sun and Shadows, it will be my first full length novel in that genre. And I have more short stories to publish. I think I’ll be busy in 2026.

Retribution Rising (VOL 1: Flashbacks) by Eddie O’Shea Review

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.

A young man who dreams of becoming a hero discovers the heroes he looks up to may not be who they claim to be in author Eddie O’Shea’s “Retribution Rising Volume 1: Flashbacks.”

Advertisements

The Synopsis

In “Retribution Rising,” Ethan navigates a world reminiscent of Earth, yet teeming with super-powered individuals. His lifelong aspiration to join the elite hero group, D4, seems within reach as his own powers begin to manifest. Inspired by D4’s valor and their motto, “When danger calls, D4 answers,” Ethan seizes an opportunity to aid them against a formidable villain near his home. However, as he steps into the fray, he learns the hard truth behind the adage: never meet your heroes.

The Review

This was an action-packed, gripping and thrilling new sci-fi and fantasy epic graphic novel. The exploration of people’s love and passion for superheroes and the theme of hero worship plays a crucial role in the narrative, and the way the author explores both this world of heroes and the history of the protagonist will instantly draw readers into the narrative. The dynamic imagery in this graphic novel harkens back to iconic MANGA and ANIME style artwork, and the artwork lends itself to the fast pace of the action as well.

The character development was the best aspect of this narrative. It held elements of classic comic book origin stories while also adding unique world building and mythology to the world, especially in Ethan’s backstory as he discovers the origins of his family. The mythos plays into Ethan’s psychology as the story develops and the way his love for the heroes of his world impacts his interaction with them as well.

The Verdict

Big Hero 6 meets Superman meets Brian Sanderson, author Eddie O’Shea’s “Retribution Rising Volume 1: Flashbacks” is a must-read graphic novel. The twists and turns Ethan’s story takes and the compelling balance of action and world-building all culminates in a shocking twist finale that will leave readers breathless and hanging onto the edge of their seats as they eagerly await Volume 2 in this story. City In My Eyes (Mannahatta Series Book 3) by Thomas More Review

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.

An imprisoned leader must use her skills as a warrior to stop a galactic threat in author Thomas More’s “City in My Eyes”, the upcoming third book in the Mannahatta series.

Advertisements

The Synopsis

Her world was left to die. Her future is a cage. Her only weapon is yesterday.

Chained and defeated, Sakima is a queen in name only—a prisoner on a brutal desert planet, surrounded by bitter rivals. With her people’s future slipping away and hope all but gone, her enemies have forgotten one truth: before she was a queen, she was a warrior.

And a warrior does not die in a cage.

Her only path forward is a suicide mission: forge a fragile alliance with alien outlaws, breach an impossible prison, and track down a renegade prince who holds the keys to time itself.

But rewriting history may be the most perilous weapon of all. In a race against time itself, will their desperate gambit save their world—or destroy it forever?

Fans of the time-bending stakes of Avengers: Endgame, the ragtag heroics of Guardians of the Galaxy, and the sweeping finales of Brandon Sanderson will be captivated by this stunning third book in the Mannahatta saga.

Don’t miss this epic adventure where the only way forward… is back.

The Review

As a longtime fan of this series, this was such a powerful and compelling entry. The harrowing, despairing scenarios that the protagonist and her allies find themselves in after the events of the second book are chilling to say the least, and the balance of action and world-building the author was able to achieve in this book was not only entertaining, but was even more elevated and bigger than anyone could have imagined when this series began. The author’s writing style really brought these settings to life, especially the harsh alien prison world the protagonist wakes up on, as readers are transported with the protagonist into a hostile environment that readers can easily visualize in their mind, from the scorching heat and grueling work they are forced into to the brutality of the fight or die mentality they have to adopt on this world.

Yet at the heart of this narrative was both the strong character growth and the themes the novel explored. Sakima’s journey is emotional and compelling, with her desire to protect her people and save herself from this hellish nightmare something readers could feel instantly whenever her chapters arrived. The interesting chapters that took me by surprise in a great way were the exploration of Mannahatta in her absence, with her brother left in charge and a devious plot unraveling when a shocking figure makes a move to change the course of their world. It speaks to the overwhelming sense of isolationism that so much of the world is experiencing right now, and how tragedy and fear can become powerful tools for those who seek power to manipulate the masses.

The Verdict

Engaging, memorable, and powerfully written, author Thomas More’s “City in My Eyes” is a must-read sci-fi epic and fantastic entry into the Mannahatta series. The twists and turns the story takes, the inclusion of sci-fi elements like time-travel and other realities/worlds, and the emotional arcs all blend together to make the most explosive and entertaining entry in the series yet. Confessions of a Problem Seeker by Howard Steinberg Review

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.

Author Howard Steinberg shares the powerful journey of confronting past traumas to find a brighter future in the book “Confessions of a Problem Solver.”

Advertisements

The Synopsis

Confessions of a Problem Seeker is a raw and unflinchingly honest memoir of one man’s midlife reckoning and search to find his soul. As a childhood shaped by trauma and illness gave way to an illusion of adult success and purpose—marriage, fatherhood, entrepreneurial achievement—the author finds himself grappling with the unshakable feeling that he has lived a life shaped more by fear and survival instincts than by inner truth. Triggered by divorce, professional loss, and a deep inner emptiness, his search for peace leads him to psychedelics and a spiritual awakening as he begins to heal old wounds, including the lingering shadows of his Holocaust-survivor parents. He offers a compassionate invitation for others—particularly those in the second half of life—to question who they really are beneath their busy identities and to reclaim the joy and stillness of an authentic, present life.

The Review

This was an insightful and engaging read. The author’s honesty and ability to embrace past events not only becomes the cornerstone of the book, but elevates the reading experience entirely. The balance the author found in personal storytelling about their life with the lessons and experiences that became the foundation of their outlook on life and the blueprints that would develop in this book as a result was astonishing, and the way the author brought authenticity to the discussion surrounding diabetes and living with chronic illness from a young age was something so many readers will be able to relate to.

What stood out was the author’s ability to confront the trauma of his past and touch upon the way those traumas impacted his identity over time. For many people, they find themselves living a life inauthentic to who they are due to one reason or another, be it family pressure or self-sabotage or some sort of trauma impacting their life. The impacts of the author’s parents surviving the horrors of the Holocaust and the expectations he had put upon him and he put upon himself led to the choices he made early in life, but through challenging those choices later in life the author shows how anyone can make changes for the better and find an inner peace and a connection to that missing identity that they lost so long ago.

The Verdict

Honest, compelling, and engaging, author Howard Steinberg’s “Confessions of a Problem Seeker” is a wholly unique and enthralling nonfiction memoir meets inspiration story and a must-read book. The balance the author found in personal storytelling and motivational insight was superb, and the heartfelt, almost conversational style of writing allowed readers to connect to the author’s story in a meaningful way. If you haven’t yet, be sure to grab your copy today!
