The fantasy genre blends with the science-fiction genre when a young boy in a far-off kingdom must stop himself from pursuing the love of a young princess by traveling back in time in author Frederic Petrovskyโs โEscape From Yesterdayโ.

The Synopsis
The ultimate time travel adventure! ESCAPE FROM TOMORROW follows Den, a seventeen-year-old who has been a servant in Castle Kuthalds all his life. Den struggles with sexual awakening, and finds himself drawn to Oshana, the Vizierโs strong and alluring daughter. When this forbidden love is discovered by the cruel and obsessive Vizier, he becomes enraged. The Vizier incarcerates Den in the notorious Zakaz prison, and begins a campaign of murdering a generation of his subjects. To set things right, Den is brought to an ancient underground civilization of monstrous shape-shifters that sends him back in time. The plan fails, and Den is transported to an even earlier time. But during both visits to the past, Den inadvertently interacts with himself. This sets in motion a series of perilous escapes in three separate time periodsโthree different Dens, Oshanas, Umbras, and Viziers.
The Review
A wonderful fusion of the romance of Disneyโs Aladdin with the time-travel insanity of Back to the Future and the high-stakes political and family drama of Game of Thrones, Escape From Yesterday is a smash hit of the sci-fi and fantasy genres.
The author is able to establish unique mythology in this fictional kingdom and showcase the struggles of being under the harsh thumb of a ruler like the Vizier, while also introducing a forbidden romance between a young house servant and the Vizierโs daughter, the Princess. The character-driven narrative takes center stage alongside the setting, as each plays a pivotal role in the plot that sees the protagonist forced to travel back in time several times to stop the kingdom from collapsing from within.
The Verdict
A strong, entertaining, and evenly-paced fantasy read, author Frederic Petrovskyโs โEscape From Yesterdayโ is a must-read novel of the summer for fantasy/sci-fi fans. Filled with adventure, fast-paced action, and complex mythology build-up, this is a fun read that many readers will be able to sink their teeth into. Be sure to grab your copy today!

The Review
Many people often talk of adventure but rarely do we ever get to see it unfold as it does in this amazing memoir. The combination of an adventure memoir with the more personalized touch of including journal entries, photographs, and other material made this feel like a book that readers could really invest in on multiple levels.
The vivid imagery of the writing and the outstanding experiences both good and bad that the author shares to tell a powerful story of adventure, but also lends itself to the overall message or theme as well. The theme that no matter how much searching a person does, there is no one paradise in this world or anywhere else, but true joy and change comes from within.
The Verdict
Engaging, entertaining, and an evenly paced read, author Rita Pomadeโs โSeeker: A Sea Odysseyโ is a must-read memoir. Powerfully told and one of a kind, the book showcases the power of travel and the emotional core that comes from realizing true peace and understanding comes not from outside forces, but within us all. A tragic loss and desire for a better life leads a woman down a dark and dangerous path into the past and future in author Karen Hamiltonโs psychological thriller, โThe Last Wifeโ.
Advertisements
The Synopsis
In Karen Hamiltonโs shocking thriller, THE LAST WIFE (Graydon House, July 7, $17.99) Marie Langham is distraught when her childhood friend, Nina, is diagnosed with a terminal illness. Before Nina passes away, she asks Marie to look out for her familyโher son, daughter, and husband, Stuart. Marie would do anything for Nina, so of course, she agrees.
Following Nina’s death, Marie gradually finds herself drawn into her friend’s lifeโher family, her large house in the countryside. But when Camilla, a mutual friend from their old art-college days, suddenly reappears, Marie begins to suspect that she has a hidden agenda. Then, Marie discovers that Nina had long suppressed secrets about a holiday in Ibiza the women took ten years previously when Marie’s then-boyfriend went missing after a tragic accident and was later found dead.
Marie used to envy Nina’s beautiful life, but now the cards are up in the air and she begins to realize that nothing is what it seemed. As long-buried secrets start surfacing, Marie must figure out whatโs true and who she can trust before the consequences of Ninaโs dark secrets destroy her.
The Review
The author does an excellent job of ramping up the suspense early on in the story. At first glance, the mystery of the promises Marie made to Nina seems harmless, but they are anything but. The edgy nature of the thriller lends itself well to the cast of characters and their hidden natures.
The authorโs focus on character development really shines through in this thriller. The mark of a good mystery shows in this narrative, as the characters all show evidence of both good and nefarious intentions, marking them as well-rounded and complex characters that are both relatable and engaging to readers.
The Verdict
An edge-of-your-seat thriller, author Karen Hamiltonโs โThe Last Wifeโ is a must-read summer mystery that is reminiscent of the shocking and electrifying mystery surrounding Gillian Flynnโs โGone Girlโ. The characters steal the show as by bookโs end those you thought you could trust suddenly are not, and readers are left shocked as the book comes to a close. Be sure to grab your copy today!

PROLOGUE
Clients trust me because I blend in. Itโs a natural skillโmy gift, if you like. I focus my lens and capture stories, like the ones unfolding tonight: natural and guarded expressions, self-conscious poses, joyous smiles, reluctant ones from a teenage bridesmaid, swathed in silver and bloodred. The groom is an old friend, yet Iโve only met his now-wife twice. She seems reserved, hard to get to know, but in their wedding album sheโll glow. The camera does lie. My role is to take these lies and spin them into the perfect story.
I take a glass of champagne from a passing server. I neednโt be totally on the ball during the latter half of the evening because by then, people naturally loosen up. I find that the purest details are revealed in the discreet pictures I snatch during the final hours, however innocuously an event starts. And besides, it seems this event is winding down.
The one downside of my job is the mixed bag of emotions evoked. I rarely take family photos anymore, so normally, Iโm fine, but today, watching the wedding festivities, the longing for what I donโt have has crept up on me. People think that envy is a bad thing, but in my opinion, envy is a positive emotion. It has always been the best indicator for me to realize whatโs wrong with my life. People say, โFollow your dreams,โ yet Iโd say, โFollow what makes you sick with envy.โ
Itโs how I knew that I must stop deceiving myself and face up to how desperately I wanted to have a child. Delayed gratification is overrated.
I place my camera on a table as the tempo eases and sit down on a satin-draped chair. As I watch the bride sweep across the dance floor with her new husband, I think of Nina, and an overwhelming tide of grief floods through me. I picture her haunted expression when she elicited three final promises from me: two are easy to keep, one is not. Nonetheless, a vow is a vow. I will be creative and fulfill it. I have a badโyet temptingโidea which occasionally beckons me toward a slippery slope.
I must do my best to avoid it because when Nina passed the baton to me, she thought I was someone she could trust. However, as my yearning grows, the crushing disappointment increases every month and the future I crave remains elusive. And she didnโt know that Iโd do anything to get what I want. Anything.
ONE
Ben isnโt at home. I used to panic when that happened, assume that he was unconscious in a burning building, his oxygen tank depleted, his colleagues unable to reach him. All this, despite his assurance that they have safety checks in place to keep an eye out for each other. Heโs been stressed lately, blames it on work. He loves his job as a firefighter, but nearly lost one of his closest colleagues in a fire on the fourth floor of a block of flats recently when a load of wiring fell down and threatened to ensnare him.
No, the reality is that he is punishing me. He doesnโt have a shift today. I understand his hurt, but itโs hard to explain why I did what I did. For a start, I didnโt think that people actually sent out printed wedding invitations anymore. If Iโd known that the innocuous piece of silver card smothered in horseshoes and church bells would be the ignition for the worst argument weโd ever had, I wouldnโt have opened it in his presence.
Marie Langham plus guestโฆ
I donโt know what annoyed Ben more, the fact that he wasnโt deemed important enough to be named or that I said I was going alone.
โIโm working,โ I tried to explain. โThe invitation is obviously a kind formality, a politeness.โ
โAll this is easily rectifiable,โ he said. โIf you wanted me there, you wouldnโt have kept me in the dark. The date was blocked off as work months ago in our calendar.โ
True. But I couldnโt admit it. He wouldnโt appreciate being called a distraction.
Now, I have to make it up to him because itโs the right time of the month. He hates what he refers to as enforced sex (too much pressure), and any obvious scene-setting like oyster-and-champagne dinners, new lingerie, an invitation to join me in the shower or even a simple suggestion that we just shag, all the standard methods annoy him. Itโs hard to believe that other couples have this problem, it makes me feel inadequate.
One of our cats bursts through the flap and aims for her bowl. I observe her munching, oblivious to my return home until this monthโs strategy presents itself to me: nonchalance. A part of Benโs stress is that he thinks Iโm obsessed with having a baby. I told him to look up the true meaning of the word: an unhealthy interest in something. Itโs not an obsession to desire something perfectly normal.
I unpack, then luxuriate in a steaming bath filled with bubbles. Iโm a real sucker for the sales promises: relax and unwind and revitalize. I hear the muffled sound of a key in the lock. Itโs Benโwho else would it beโyet I jump out and wrap a towel around me. Heโs not alone. I hear the voices of our neighbors, Rob and Mike. Heโs brought in reinforcements to maintain the barrier between us. There are two ways for me to play this and if you canโt beat themโฆ
I dress in jeans and a T-shirt, twist my hair up and grip it with a hair clip, wipe mascara smudges from beneath my eyes and head downstairs.
โYouโre back,โ says Ben by way of a greeting. โThe guys have come over for a curry.โ
โSounds perfect,โ I say, kissing him before hugging our friends hello.
I feel smug at the wrong-footed expression on Benโs face. He thought Iโd be unable to hide my annoyance, that Iโd pull him to one side and whisper, โItโs orange,โ (the color my fertility app suggests is the perfect time) or suggest that I cook instead so I can ensure he eats as organically as possible.
โWhoโs up for margaritas?โ I say with an Iโm game for a big night smile.

A mission to stop a universal threat becomes a question of morality for a Captain and his crew in the sci-fi epic 13 Worlds by J.J. Hair.ย

The Synopsis
Directed by an omnipotent super-being known as the โGuideโ, Commander Culben, Dr. Reeves, and the crew of starship Ranus have set out on a mission to destroy thirteen different planets: analogous but unique versions of 1st and 2nd Earth. The planetsโ inhabiting civilizations are believed to be on the verge of developing advanced DNA-editing technology known as CRISPR, which would lead to the creation of Supremes: an advanced human species capable of wiping out all life in the galaxy.
โฆIf history can be believed. What begins as a straightforward mission quickly becomes a series of moral quandaries. Is the crew doing whatโs best for the galaxy? Can the Guide be trusted?
While the Ranus pursues its targets, each world begins to learn of its fate through the eyes of Lisa Fry, Clarke Gabriel, and other medical scientists. Can their discoveries change their fate?
The Review
A thrilling adventure and sci-fi narrative, 13 Worlds begins an epic series that focuses heavily on character growth over mythology. The author does a great job of planting the seeds of mystery and terror early on in the story before taking readers into a whole new side of the story, jumping ahead to a sci-fi epic tale of morality and destruction.
From the eerie nature of Malek to the mysterious nature of the Ranus crew, the author does a great job of making the characters take center stage in the narrative. The narrative packs a lot of story and growth for the characters in such a short read, making it easy to see how an entire series could play out past this initial novel.
The Verdict
Action-packed, mystery driven and gloriously sci-fi, author J.J. Hairโs โ13 Worldsโ is a must-read novel. Filled with untold danger, a complex question of morality and a fairly fast-paced read, this narrative does a fantastic job of delving into the characterโs journeys and will keep readers invested wholly in the story. About the Author
J. J. Hair has always had a passion for writing. He wrote his first book when he was 18 years old; it was too short to be a full novel, too long to be a novella. While the storytelling was technically strong, the characters of his first effort were fairly two dimensional. What was the secret ingredient to making good characters? J. J. Hair would argue it was just living out life.
He worked as a Process Engineer for five years among different manufacturing companies. This involved interacting with a wide range of different personalities. It is in these personal interactions in life where we begin to ascertain what makes a character interesting. J. J. Hair has returned to fiction writing (with a current focus on science fiction) with the belief that his new writing has improved both in prose and characterization.
J. J. Hairโs first published science fiction novella is 13 Worlds. It is currently a stand-alone book, but there is potential for expansion. He has written two novellas in the fantasy genre prior to 13 Worlds and will likely consider polishing these stories up for publication assuming enough interest exists.
His writing takes inspiration from Robert Heinlein and Orson Card, but brings his own unique storytelling and characters to his novellas. His all-time favorite sci-fi novels are: Red Planet and Enderโs Game. J. J. Hair also takes inspiration from some of his favorite video games: the Final Fantasy series (VII, X, and XII in particular), Persona 3 and 5, and most Bioware-developed RPGs (Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, the Mass Effect trilogy, Jade Empire).

The truthfulness of current and controversial U.S. president Donald Trump takes center stage as his quotes and known sayings are challenged with facts and reason in author Bill Adler Jr.โs โTrump Corrected: A Counter-Quotation Bookโ.
Advertisements
The Synopsis
Trump Corrected is a counter-quotation book. For each quotation by Donald Trump, Trump Corrected offers alternative, enlightened, informed and sane words spoken by somebody else.
The strange, often incoherent, furious, fatuous or just plain ignorant words that spill out of Donald Trumpโs mouth and keyboard are paired in Trump Corrected with intelligent, rational comments. Trump Corrected is the conversation you always wanted to see between Donald Trump and thoughtful people like Abraham Lincoln, Albert Einstein, Jon Stewart, and Stephen King. People who know what theyโre talking about.
When Trump isnโt lying, heโs often babbling incoherently, staggering from subject to subject โ even within the same sentence. The politicians, historians, musicians, athletes, diplomats, writers, comedians, scientists and others quoted in Trump Corrected have an advantage over Donald Trump when it comes to speaking clearly and honestly about the subjects that perplex President Trump: They read books. Or they take the advice of former President Barack Obama: โThe most important thing you need to do is to have big chunks of time during the day when all youโre doing is thinking.โ Trump Corrected may not be a fair fight, but it’s an illuminating and sometimes amusing one.
Viewed from the perspective of Trumpโs duelists, Trump Corrected gives an insightful and revealing look at Donald Trump, as well as hope that reason and intelligence will be restored to America.
The Review
During a contentious time such as ours, when we are in the midst of social unrest, the fight for civil rights, and a global pandemic, this book has never felt more relevant. The author brilliantly showcases the sad state of Trumpโs opinions and official statements and builds upon them to argue or counter-point the statements with logical, intellectual and sound reasoning from more credible sources.
Touching on everything from Healthcare and the Press to his Presidency and Trumpโs own ego, the author holds no punches as they expertly take apart Trumpโs own statements and calls out just how much the President thinks of himself versus the actual intellect and truthfulness of what heโs saying to the public, much of which comes from his overly used Twitter account. Readers will not be able to put down this book as it showcases a multitude of lies, inaccuracies, and hurtful commentary from a man who is supposed to be leading our nation, (and this was before the last couple of years of his Presidency).
The Verdict
A must-read for anyone who enjoys political non-fiction reads evenly paced books and is seeking to educate and learn about the inaccurate statements and history of the man who is currently running the United States in the midst of some of our nationโs biggest struggles, and is affecting the world stage as well. A truly thought-provoking read, be sure to grab your copy today!

COLLECTING: X-MEN RED 1-5, X-MEN RED ANNUAL 1
The Verdict
A one of a kind story that showcases the powerful character that is Jean Grey. For so long her complex nature has shown her as a powerful mutant, a founding member of the X-Men, a complex character overtaken by a powerful cosmic force, and a time-displaced hero trying to find redemption for her future self. Now the true Jean Grey is returned, and getting to see her become not only a new X-Men leader but the visionary behind a brighter mutant future is great to see. Having a new and powerful villain to match Jeanโs own skill makes this an even greater read, and speaks volumes to the current climate in our world that sees too much violence and hatred towards specific groups of people. A must-read for X-Men fans!

COLLECTING: STAR WARS: DARTH VADER 1-6
The Verdict
A great exploration of the very early days of Anakin Skywalkerโs rise into the role of Darth Vader. Taking place shortly after the events that saw the Jedi Order destroyed and Anakin nearly killed at the hands of Obi Wan Kenobi, Vader becomes the frightening villain so many Star Wars fans grew up knowing him to be. The complex nature of this characterโs struggles mixed with his descent into villainy shine through here, as do the early days of the Inquisitors and their training at Vaderโs brutal hands. A true must-read narrative for Star Wars fans!

The Review
A fantastic read! The author does an amazing job of creating a narrative for readers new to the series and fans of the first novel as well. The characters are well-rounded as they are filled with rich history not only between one another but by themselves as well, making their story shine even brighter.
The story does a great job of bringing readers fully into the romance aspect of the narrative, making the tension and pain of their history together that much more engaging as a reader. However the inclusion of mystery and intrigue surrounding aspects of their shared past make this a good little mystery as well, giving an added layer of connectivity to the characters overall.
The Verdict
A truly wonderful and engaging read, author Angelina M. Lopez and her novel โHate Crushโ is an evenly paced, heart-pounding read that readers will not be able to put down. A wonderful and rich cast of characters and entertaining story make this a must-read contemporary romance, so be sure to grab your copy today!
Angelina M. Lopez wrote “arthur” when her kindergarten teacher asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up. In the years since she learned to spell the word correctly, she’s been a journalist for an acclaimed city newspaper, a freelance magazine writer, and a content marketer for small businesses. Finally, she found her way back to “author.”
Angelina writes sexy, contemporary stories about strong women and the confident men lucky enough to fall in love with them. The fact that her parents own a vineyard in Californiaโs Russian River Valley might imply a certain hedonism about her; it’s not true. She’s a wife and a mom who lives in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. She makes to-do lists with perfectly drawn check boxes. She checks them with glee.

And now, an excerpt of Hate Crush (Filthy Rich #2) by Angelina M. Lopez…
Aish pulled the bud out of his ear and straightened, never taking his eyes off her as he held it out. When she took the bud from him, she let her fingers linger. His fingertips were warm and that tiny touch sent a frisson down her arm.
She unwrapped the headphones from around her neck and stuffed them into her back pocket. But she didnโt move back.
โIโm a musician,โ he said, voice low.
โI know.โ
A corner of his mouth went up. โWhat else do you know?โ
That he made every millimeter of her skin buzz. That he smelled like boy and sweat and ocean salt. She hated the nose-clogging scent of cologne. There was nothing fake about the way this boy smelled.
She pulled her long braid over her shoulder and tugged on it. โYouโre from LA, your father designs clothes, your mother is a famous fitness instructor. Yโฆyouโre very good at surfing, singing, partying, working harder on less sleep than everyone else andโฆoh, sรญ, mรฉnage ร trois.โ
Shock, mortification, and humor created a palette across his expressive face. โWho said Iโm good at threesomes?โ
Sofia ran a hand down her braid and shrugged, all Spanish cool. โNo sรฉ. I keep my nose to myself. Itโs everyone else who talks.โ
When he grinned this time, he looked like he might lean down and taste her. โAnd what does everyone say about you?โ
Sofia worked to maintain her smile. She wanted to be no one to nobody. She wanted to have nothing said about her. But even if sheโd lived a cloistered life in a high tower, her story would be marred with her parentsโ dramas and affairs and fights, ugly public episodes that stripped Sofia of dignity without her involvement. And Princesa Sofia hadnโt lived a cloistered life. Maintaining her dignity hadnโt been high on her list when sheโd mooned the crowd from atop a Semana Santa float in Cรกdiz or when sheโd waved drunkenly to the paparazzi from a movie starโs hotel balcony when she was supposed to be presented to the Queen of England. Sheโd been neither drunk nor sleeping with the star. But her humiliated mother had abandoned the dukeโs bedroom sheโd been occupying to drag Sofia back to the Monte.
She didnโt want to think about her scandalous past. She didnโt want to think about the demands of her future. All Sofia wanted right now was to be a dirty, half-naked girl wrapped around a beautiful boy in a wine tank.
โI know some stuff about you,โ Aish said quietly.
Sofia focused on the air in front of his face and ran her hand down her braid.
โYour nameโs Sofia. Thatโsโฆreally fucking pretty.โ He hadnโt said Princess Sofia. He hadnโt said Sofia de
Esperanza y Santos. Just Sofia. And he thought it was pretty. She focused again on his eyes.
โYouโve got a great accent.โ The air between them felt like it was warming up. โYou like grunt work, which is so hot it kinda hurts.โ
Nothing about her royal status. Nothing about her reputation. Heโd just arrived; perhaps none of the interns had told him about the princess in their midst. Perhaps his uncle had just said, โMake sure the new intern hasnโt passed out. Her name is Sofia.โ
โYouโre not wearing a bra.โ Her mouth opened at that, surprised, as his eyed gripped shut. โI noticed and if you noticed I noticed, Iโm sorry โcause I donโt want you to think Iโm a total fucking creeper and scare you awayโฆโ
โI donโt think youโre a creeper,โ she said, reaching to brush her fingers over his clenched fist. Her breasts were so small she seldom wore a bra. But this boy acted like they were an irresistible temptation.
Aish opened his eyes. โAre you for real?โ
Sofia smiled up at him, feeling helpless and foolish and floating.
โI mean, am I having some weird acid flashback?โ His urgency seemed to express that it was a real possibility.
โWouldnโt I be having one, too?โ she asked. โAnd Iโve never done acid.โ
โNo, no.โ He was a lit fuse aimed in her direction. โThis could be my own personal hallucination. Because, what the fuck. My uncle tells me to go check on the new intern and inside a tank is a kick-ass, bare-skinned fairy girl listening to elf music. I feel like Iโm tripping. Am I?โ
With amazement beaming from her, Sofia shook her head.
He reacted like sheโd punched him. โFuck. Your smile. Can I kiss you?โ

A couple seeking to become a family find themselves unknowingly thrust into a paranormal mission that could change the world as they know it in author Chris Stevensonโs novel โDispossessed Incโ.
The Synopsis
Even Jimmy Hoffa wouldnโt have believed that the ghost realm could have been unionized.
The League of Paranormal Cooperation and Studies is nearly 300 years old. Itโs run by a clandestine organization deep from within the bowels of Homeland Security. According to the Declaration of Codependence drafted by the clergy in 1634, ghosts are restricted from committing wanton acts of property damage, trespass, and psychological or physical harm to humans. They are quarantined in district wards under the umbrella of the United States Guild. These facilities number in the thousands and go by the front name D.I. Foster Care and Adoption, better know as Dispossessed Incorporated.
Remy Hargitay and his wife, Phaedra, are sterile. Their fondest wish is to hold a loving child in their arms before the stress threatens to torpedo their marriage. Fortified with a ferocious resolve (and a fringe hangover) Remy visits the D.I. Foster Care and Adoption Agency to pick up an application. Only he brings home more than an application. Heโs duped into signing a contract that enlists him as a โGuardianโ, shackling him to three mischievous ghostsโa Chicago gangster, a New York prostitute, and a drug-crazed hippie. Unknowingly, Remy has just been recruited into Dispossessed Incorporated. His mission: hitch a ride โdownstreamโ in time with each subject and perform a โdeath-stopโ intervention. If he fulfills the contract, he will be awarded the foster child of his choice. Yet, the consequences just might change the history of mankind forever.
But Remy is unaware of how many times he and his wife will have to lay their lives on the line for the sake of the missions. Nobody told him that it was normal to die tragically during an intervention, only to be resurrected by something called a Dark Herald. And, really, someone forgot to tell him that performing the three โdeath-stopsโ would alter and impact the future timeline of all humankind in a way that Remy never expected.
But when the agency murders his wife, forcing him to perform a death-stop on her, all bets are off!

The Review
Another brilliant read from author Chris Stevenson, the story brilliantly starts readers out on a paranormal adventure like no other, before traveling down a long and trippy sci-fi and fantasy driven narrative that includes time-travel and so much more.
The author does an excellent job here of creating a memorable cast of characters, which not only serves as the backbone of the story but elevates it to new heights. A trio of ghosts who represent pastimes considered less than ideal by society become integral to the future of mankind, and makes for an interesting insight into character, morality and how our actions impact the future.
The Verdict
A fantastic, evenly paced read and one of a kind adventure, this is one of the most original and in-depth stories author Chris Stevenson has written to date. An entertaining and character-driven narrative, the author has crafted a wholly original read and mythology that explores the world of the paranormal and time-travel. Feeling like a blend of Stephen Kingโs 11/22/63 and The Shining, this is a must-read for any fan of the sci-fi and fantasy genres, as well as a perfect blend of horror as well. A young troll finds herself desperate and forced to turn to a crime so dangerous it neared suicidal in author Sarah J. Soverโs โDouble-Crossing The Bridgeโ.
The Synopsis
Rent in New Metta is through the cavern ceiling. When Granu barely survives her first gig teaching students who attempt to fillet her for lunch, the baby-eating troll ends up unemployed and facing eviction. Granu’s only prospect for income is grueling work in the tar pits. That is, until her playboy best friend devises a perfect, if suicidal, schemeโa heist!
The Covered Bridge, the largest source of income for the city, has New Metta well under hoof. In a week, TCB Corporation pulls in enough cash to buy a small country. It’s the ideal target, but security is top-notch. Granu needs three things to survive this heist: a crew of specialists, impenetrable sun protection, and gallons of grog.
Thereโs just one thing Granu doesnโt plan forโthose damn meddling billy goats.
The Review
This was truly one of a kind read in the fantasy genre. Blending humor with fantasy-driven narratives, the author does a great job of bringing a sense of normalcy to the world of trolls and other fantasy creatures.
The author does a fantastic job of mirroring the life of protagonist Granu with that of humanity and their everyday lives, from the nature of the food chain to dating life and the desperation one feels after losing a job. Yet the action takes center stage once desperation forces Granu to take a role in a prominent theft, only to face a surprising obstacle.
The Verdict
A rich, layered world of fantasy and action, author Sarah J. Soverโs โDouble-Crossing the Bridgeโ is a must-read fantasy and humor novel. Filled with powerful characters and a unique plot, this is a truly marvelous read that you will not be able to put down. Be sure to grab your copy today!
