“THE FUGITIVE PT. 1/THE FUGITIVE PT. 2”
One-Hour Fall Finale Airing on a Special Night: Sunday, Jan. 1 (8:30-9:30 PM ET/PT.)
On this special one-hour fall finale of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, we get to see a whole lot of action mixed in with plenty of humor as well as one shocking moment that will leave us all saying, “Did that really just happen?“ But before we get into the ending, let’s start at the beginning.
A manhunt ensues when a prison van overturns and a mass of convicts emerge from said van into the streets of Brooklyn. Matters only get worse when their only key witness is former NFL running back Marshawn Lynch (guest-starring as himself) who doesn’t seem to have actually seen anything. That doesn’t stop Captain Holt and Rosa, who is a massive fan of his, from interrogating them, though. And let’s just say, they definitely get an ear-full.
Meanwhile, Jake and Amy decide to make a bet on who can bring in the most escaped convicts. The prize? Whoever wins gets to keep their apartment while the loser moves in with them. So with Jake teamed with Terry, and Amy teamed with Charles, it makes for an exciting race to see who will take home the prize.
Then, in part 2 of this epic finale, there’s only one fugitive still on the loose, so Jake must enlist an ally that no one saw coming: The Pontiac Bandit aka Doug Judy. He just so happens to be the former foster brother of the last convict and may know his whereabouts.
Back at the precinct, Charles becomes furious when he finds out he’s the only one in the squad left out of the group texts. He soon finds out that it’s because he’s a mass texter and never knows how to keep it short and simple. So Gina and Amy must teach him how to cut back on the texting so he can remain in their group texts.
Now back to the chase for the final convict. The alliance between Jake and Doug makes them quickly form a friendship that more than annoys Captain Holt and has him questioning if Jake is being too leanient on his new friend, who has committed over 600 crimes. So he inserts himself into the case to keep an eye on things and to help track down this ruthless criminal.
This fall finale was great in a lot of ways, and was one of the more action-packed episodes in a while. I loved seeing them have a throwback to the days of Jake and Amy’s bets, as well as being on the edge of my seat to see if The Pontiac Bandit will truly be there just to help Jake or if he actually has ulterior motives. I think everyone will more than enjoy this finale, but whatever you do, make sure you watch until the very. last. second.
Here are some things to look forward to in the special one-hour fall finale:
- Marshawn Lynch’s thoughts on quesadillas
- Gina’s newfound positive attitude
- The end result of Jake and Amy’s bet
- Charles’ incessant texting
- Gertie’s return
- Doug Judy and Jake’s theme song

FOX’s Gotham Pilot Preview
One of falls most anticipated new shows has definitely got to be FOX’s Gotham. Having recently been given a special screening of the show’s highly anticipated pilot, we were delighted to see the great story that unfolded and showcased the direction the show would take fans. Exploring the formative years before Batman started saving lives in Gotham, the show follows new police detective James Gordon, played by the incredibly talented Ben Mackenzie, and his journey into exploring the dark underbelly of the corrupt city of Gotham. After the tragic murders of Thomas and Martha Wayne, Gordon and his partner, Harvey Bullock, played by Donal Logue, begin traversing the crime ridden city, uncovering clues to the killer’s identity and turning over stones that may be better left unturned. Organized mobsters, corrupt police and city officials, and a city where the corrupt thrive and the innocent submit or die, Gotham is a gritty crime drama that is a mixture of old school noir and true to form comic book storytelling. The drama also does a fantastic job of introducing some of Gotham’s most notorious villains and vigilantes before they became said villains and vigilantes. Gotham premieres Monday, September 22nd, 2014 on FOX!
Gang Related “Melandros” Season Finale Preview
In an intense and incredibly bloody season finale, Gang Related showcases it’s incredible story telling and character development in this last
episode of the season. Following the shocking final moments of last week’s episode, Chapel leads his team down to Mexico in order to find the man
responsible for last week’s shocking death. With no law protecting them and no resources other than their own, the team takes extreme measures
to find the killer and risks their careers, their freedom, and their lives in order to get revenge. Meanwhile, Daniel takes further steps to
ensure his father’s safety and his family’s future by using his wedding as a meeting place for his father and gang leader Lavar to secure a truce
and peace in order to battle the Mexican cartel threatening to destroy the lives of everyone in Los Angeles. The harsh reality of the power and
resources of both the gangs and cartels is showcased artfully in this show, and the brutal nature of that violent world is blended perfectly with
amazing storytelling, fantastic character development, and rich plot twists that help further a rich tapestry of artistic storytelling. The show
also does a great job of showcasing how everyone has a secret, and not even the good guys are truly good, but often deal with a darkness within
themselves in order to do their job. The action and drama keeps you on the edge of your seat all the way till the final moments of the episode,
and we here at On Request Magazine hope that the show quickly gets renewed for a second season, for this finale was truly one of the most
explosive finales of the summer. Make sure to watch the finale tonight, at 9/8 central on FOX!
On Request Magazine’s Weekly Roundup (February 5th, 2014)
1. Lex Luthor and Alfred cast: This week it came to light that Warner Bros. cast Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor in the much anticipated Man of Steel Sequel. Controversy struck at the news that this young actor would be playing the role of Superman’s most iconic villain, and many fans are worried about the future of DC films. While many cannot see the young actor playing a powerful and intelligent billionaire villain, we here at On Request Magazine are holding onto hope that Zack Snyder and Warner Bros. know what they are doing, and hope to see images, behind the scenes, or video of the actor soon. The film also cast legendary actor Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce Wayne’s butler/companion. The film also stars Henry Cavil as Superman, Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Gal Godot as Wonder Woman, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, and Diane Lane as Martha Kent.
2. Shows to review: Arrow, Supernatural, New Girl, Justified, American Horror Story Coven, House of Lies:
A) Arrow showcased it’s wonderful storytelling ability while mixing in action and adventure as Oliver tried to train Roy into honing his anger and new abilities into something good rather than evil. In the end, one major character found out Oliver’s secret, while another spiraled way out of control.
B) Supernatural found the brothers Sam and Dean’s relationship slowly dwindling away as Sam still held onto the anger he felt at Dean manipulating him into letting the angel Gadriel possessing him. Sam and Dean worked a case, but afterwards Sam said he’d only work with Dean if they stopped being brothers, and instead focused on hunting. Dean meanwhile was given the mark of Cain, as in the biblical Cain, who was made into the first demon by Lucifer. The mark will allow Dean to wield a weapon that can kill ancient demons such as Abbadon.
C) New Girl saw the romance between Nick and Jess blossom even further, with assistance from Prince and Adam Brody. Prince helped Jess get over her fear of revealing how much she loves Nick, while Adam Brody, who played Jess’s ex who still loved her while remaining friends, helped Nick admit the real reason he broke up with his ex Caroline, which was because he fell in love with Jess the moment they met.
D) Justified saw Raylan hunting down an informant that was giving the law false information about Boyd Crowder’s illegal activities. The informant was killed by Dewey Crowe after his cousin, the leader of the Crowe family, played by Michael Rappaport, gave him orders to. The crime in Harlan County is brewing, and a war between Boyd and the Crowe family is imminent.
E) American Horror Story Coven wrapped up its season by revealing the next supreme. After a series of grueling tests that saw three of the witches die, (and one come back), it was revealed that Cordelia, Fiona’s blind daughter, was the next Supreme, and took the reigns of the coven and went on national tv to reveal the nature of witches so that more girls would come forward and get the help they needed. The on screen chemistry between Sarah Paulson and Jessica Lange this season was phenomenal, and we cannot wait for the next season to begin.
F) House of Lies has returned as a powerhouse dramedy for Showtime, and in it’s third season, Don Cheadle’s Marty Kaan is no longer the top dog, but rather tied with the strong, female leader of Jeannie, played by Kristen Bell. Bell’s character has grown in this third season, and has showcased she can be just as ruthless and power hungry as Marty.
3. Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea Episode 2 releases March 25th: The game will put you into the role of Elizabeth, giving you full control of the powerful woman as you stealthy navigate through the underwater city of Rapture to save a young girl.
4. Band spotlight: The Rare: This hard rock band located in the high desert of Southern California is a real treasure, showcasing the passion and intensity of rock and roll, as well as the amazing story that a song can tell. Look for these up and comers to make an impact on the music scene in 2014.
5. RIP Philip Seymour Hoffman: A tragic end to one of the greatest actors of our time, Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead in his apartment last Sunday. While the official cause of death is unknown, bags of heroin and needles were found on his person and in the apartment, and arrests of drug dealers are being made in connection with his death. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, loved ones, and the community at large.
