Vlog Like A Boss: How To Kill It Online With Video Blogging by Amy Schmittauer

Learn how to master the world of video with Amy Schmittauer’s incredible video marketing book, Vlog Like A Boss!

I was given a free copy of this book for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

I have been a fan of YouTube star and social media expert Amy Schmittauer for a couple of years now. So when I heard that she was writing and
publishing a book on video marketing, I knew I had to get myself a copy. I was even more stunned when I was sent an email with an advance reading
copy (ARC) of this incredible book, and I’m so honored to be one of the lucky ones to get to dive headfirst into this eye-opening book.

The book, or memoir or “how-to” book in question is called Vlog Like A Boss: How To Kill It Online With Video Blogging by Amy Schmittauer, and
I can honestly say that this is one of the most insightful YouTube and video marketing books I’ve ever read. Over the last few years I’ve read some
marketing books, but this one does a masterful job of detailing the process of getting into making video and explaining it in a way that both
seasoned filmmakers and aspiring YouTubers both can understand.

One thing that jumped out immediately was how Amy was able to write in a voice that spoke to everyone, from the young millennial eager to make
their own YouTube channel to the experienced business owner who’s seeking a helping hand using video for their work. Using fun and fascinating
tales from her own life to help explain the process, this book goes to great lengths to outline the entire video process, from identifying the
common fears of being on camera, to the equipment one will need for video and editing, to the way to identify with your audience and create a
video that will resonate with viewers.

Overall, this was a fantastic read that was both enjoyable and instructive. As someone trying to build and improve on my own YouTube channel, I
can tell you that this book has been illuminating. Taking the tools I learned from this book, I can identify problem areas with my filming, and
improve on it. From ways to generate ideas to what social media platforms work best and how they work with your videos, this is a book any
video creator will not want to miss. Inspiring, educational, and all around fun, Vlog Like A Boss by Amy Schmittauer is a must read book in
2017, and thus I give it a 10/10 rating. I will leave links to both Amy’s YouTube channel and her official book website below, and I hope you
guys will not only subscribe to her, but pre-order your copies of this book today. Vlog Like A Boss comes out on January 31st, 2017!

Shane Dawson’s “It Gets Worse” Book Review

Hilarious. Emotional. Original.

These are just a few words that perfectly describe the incredible second book from YouTube sensation and author Shane Dawson, titled “It Gets
Worse.” The follow up to his first book, “I Hate Myselfie,” this memoir gets even more personal and in-depth into the life of one of the biggest
names on the internet, and delivers an intimate experience unlike any other.

Stories revolve around so much of Shane’s life, from his experience coming out to the world as bisexual, to the emotional experience of connecting
with a lost loved one, and the hardship of dealing with haters from an early age. While his dark humor and incredible wit shine in every page of
this memoir, what really shines above all other things is the heart and emotion that one reads between the lines, (and often times right there in
big, bold print). The strong emotional pull that each story imparts with it’s lessons cut through to the readers core. So many of his stories
can easily be a reflection of our own lives, from the pain of loss to the struggle to define oneself or even the heartache that comes from being
told you aren’t talented or worthy enough for your dreams. His struggle is something that many people can identify with, and in a second book like
this the intimacy and deeper stories being told only serve to bring the readership closer together, and shows that while life can in fact “get
worse”, it can also get better or at least serve to strengthen us and show that we aren’t as along as we may feel in a given moment.

This is a powerful memoir that will make you laugh, make you cry, and will leave you wanting more, and this reviewer can only hope to see more from the
incredibly creative mind of this amazing author. Be sure to pick up your copies of “It Gets Worse” by Shane Dawson, and subscribe to his YouTube

You’re Never Weird On The Internet (almost) by Felicia Day Review:

A voice for an entire movement can come in many different forms. You never see when these voices will come along, utilizing wit and charm to
inadvertently give a sense of community and belonging to people. That’s what Felicia Day has done, and she showcases how being yourself can
lead to happiness in her memoir, “You’re Never Weird On The Internet (almost).”

In this incredible book, Felicia Day does an excellent job of weaving humor into her life’s adventures. While many will know her from such works
as Supernatural, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Eureka and her original web series, The Guild, the young actress and writer had a unique childhood
that helped shape her into the creative tour de force that she has become. What really had this reviewer engrossed in the memoir was her
struggles with self-confidence and social anxiety, which are both things I identify with and I think a lot of people will respond to positively
once they read this book. Established fans of Felicia Day will love to get to know their favorite actress more in this book, while newcomers
will thoroughly enjoy the honest voice she writes with and the very real life experiences that have shaped her into the accomplished
entertainer she has become.

Overall, this is a story of following your passions and dreams, and not being afraid to push ahead and do things the way you want without
compromising your own vision. This is a story of a young woman who grew up in a sort of isolated state, who excelled at most of the things she
took on and pursued her dream rather than taking the self-assured path that many thought she should take. Written in her wonderfully hilarious
voice and using her incredible intellect and passion to connect with the reader, this is a one of a kind memoir that cannot be replicated, and
you guys should pick up your copies of “You’re Never Weird On The Internet (almost) by Felicia Day today!

Really Professional Internet Person by Jenn McAllister Review

For some, the internet can be a scary place, filled with unknown danger. Yet those who know how to use it responsibly and practice safe
uses of that same internet can utilize this incredible tool can realize their dreams. There is something so refreshing about reading the
story of a young woman who overcame great struggles to see their dreams come true. This is where we come in with this memoir, Really Professional
Internet Person by Jenn McAllister.

This is the voice of the young YouTube generation, and yet it feels like a familiar story that a lot of teenagers go through. Struggles with
bullying, with family problems, and with finding their voice in the world. For those who don’t know her, Jenn McAllister is known by her
channel name on YouTube, jennxpenn. Amassing over 2 million subscribers on her channel, this young woman has already been on several tours,
starred in her first feature film, Bad Night, and now has written her first book. Her unique brand of dry humor has made her a staple in
the YouTube community, and this book serves as not only a memoir, but as her guide to YouTube success that has helped her over the years.
Now granted, she does a great job of stating that everyone is different, and no single guide is the right path for everyone searching to find
their voice on YouTube.

The writing in this book is fresh, mature and identifies with people of all ages. You can feel the emotions she felt pouring off the page,
and her genuine love for her craft and her appreciation to her audience are evident in every page. You will find yourself rooting for her
from the very start of the book, and without giving away any important developments in the memoir, her story and the messages she conveys
are not merely important, but rather integral to overcoming the struggle of not only school, but of life in general. It’s a message of
hardship, but it’s also a story of hope, and how hard work and determining what you are passionate about can set you on your own unique path
that only you can travel.

Overall this was a fantastic memoir. It’s been very reassuring to see these young stars utilizing their status with their fans to not only
tell their story, but to get the generations to come to pick up a book, and appreciate the written word. The future looks bright for Jenn
McAllister, and I highly recommend you pick up a copy of this book now!
