Girl of Fire (The Expulsion Project #1) by Norma Hinkens Book Review

If Firefly were to be made into a modern day CW Teen Drama, it would look a whole lot like author Norma Hinkens book, “Girl of Fire (The Expulsion
Project #1).” A fast paced adventure that explores a whole new galaxy filled with androids, cyborgs and warring worlds, this is a fantastic
sci-fi world that fans will want to dive head first into. Here is the synopsis:

ORIGIN. DESTINY. FATE. How far would you go to unravel the truth?

Trattora is the adopted daughter of the Chieftain on a primitive frontier planet. Velkan is an indentured serf who has never known a day of
freedom. Forced to flee an invasion by Galactic Pirates, they find themselves thrown together on a ramshackle mining vessel that harbors more
than one dark secret. Fate and chemistry combine when the pair’s matching birth bracelets lead them to a shocking discovery about their true
lineage. Stakes rise when they uncover the classified Expulsion Project, and the devastating sacrifice their birth families made to spare their
lives. Determined to save them from liquidation, Trattora and Velkan plunge headlong into a race against time and space to take down the
genocidal self-actualizing software that now controls large swathes of their home planet.

But will they navigate the treacherous dealings of the seedy Galactic underworld in time to rescue the families who loved them enough to let
them go?

Girl of Fire is the first novel in The Expulsion Project, a sci-fi, dystopian thriller trilogy with a whisper of romance, a heavy dose of
adventure, and action galore. If you are a Firefly or Dark Matter fan, or in Divergent withdrawal, this is the book mashup for you!

This was an edge of your seat read, filled with lots of action, great character growth and phenomenal chemistry between the characters. From the
first pages of this book you get a sense of the scope of this galaxy, and the differences that separate the worlds. Getting to see how these
characters started off from the same world and then grew up to be so different was fun to see unfold within the plot, and the story itself
had me invested and hooked immediately.

Much like the supporting characters of the book, one can’t help but feel enthralled with protagonist Trattora and her bravery. Raised on a lone
planet for most of her life, she isn’t afraid to be herself and goes to extreme lengths to save the people who matter to her. With a sense of
justice and pride she throws herself into danger, and takes charge when decisions need to be made.

Overall, this is a must read novel for YA science fiction fans. Readers will love going on this adventure as they delve into the lives of Trattora
and her friends as they explore harsh worlds and seedy cities in the galaxy. The action and shocking cliff-hanger will keep fans invested for
this exciting new series, so be sure to get your copy of “Girl of Fire” today!

Boylord Issues #1-2 by Nathan Peabody Review:

After a rather successful trip to San Francisco Comic Con, I had the pleasure of meeting several artists, writers and publishers. One such creator
was Nathan Peabody, and I was given copies of the first two issues of his growing science fiction and fantasy series, Boylord.

This comic-book series follows a young boy named Ettan, who is a part of the Utopian society of cat-like species known as pranans. His home planet
of Vareenya is millions of years old, and his people can live thousands of years. They have six pairs of DNA that give them advanced abilities,
and they are known as a force for good. Having uprooted their home planet years earlier to a more peaceful part of the galaxy, Ettan lives a
life of peace and harmless adventure. However soon Ettan finds himself thrust into a perilous adventure filled with demons, war-bound humans and
a ticket straight to hell itself. If you want to know the incredibly detailed backstory for this story, I will include a link to Boylord’s website
here: http://www.boylord.com/read-me/

The artwork is simply beautiful. While Nathan Peabody created and wrote Boylord, artist Manuela Soriani brought the vast story to visual life.
With breathtaking visuals that perfectly outline the beautiful and graceful pranans  or the gritty and visceral look of the demonic forces that
threaten young Ettan, these two issues really blend the genres of science fiction and fantasy well, and even threw in a drip of horror in for
good measure.

Overall, this is an incredible story and wonderful comic book that deserves recognition. The beautiful artwork is a perfect pairing with a strong
story that is addictive and fun to read. These first two issues are a perfect introduction into this vast galaxy that holds endless possibilities
for stories down the road, and not only should you guys pick up your copies of issues 1 & 2 of Boylord, but if you enjoy the story and want to
see more, I recommend you check out this Kickstarter campaign to continue the story and get the next chapter of this story created. Follow the

Zenith (The Androma Saga #1) by Sasha Alsberg and Lindsay Cummings Review

Imagine if science fiction cult classics such as Joss Whedon’s Firefly or the visceral story of the hit gaming series Mass Effect, and then you
put a YA spin on both franchises, then you’d have this soon to be fan favorite YA Science Fiction book Zenith (The Androma Saga #1) by Sasha
Alsberg and Lindsay Cummings. The fresh voice of Sasha Alsberg when combined with the seasoned voice of author Lindsay Cummings makes for one
of the most adrenaline fueled, heavily character driven YA stories I’ve read.

First, here is the official story synopsis.

There is darkness sweeping across the stars.

Most know her as the Bloody Baroness, the captain of a fearsome glass starship called The Marauder. Androma and her crew strike terror in the
hearts of those who cross them amongst the many corners of the Mirabel Galaxy.

When a routine mission goes rogue, the all-female crew is captured by a bounty hunter from Andi’s past and forced into a job that could, quite
literally, start a war that will devour worlds.

Meanwhile, on the far side of the galaxy, the ruthless ruler Nor waits in the shadows of the planet Xen Ptera, biding her time. The final pieces
are about to fall into place, liberating a plan that will tear Mirabel in two.

As the Marauder hurtles toward the unknown, there is one lesson that proves to be true: No one can be trusted in a galaxy that runs on lies and
illusion.

From internet sensation Sasha Alsberg and multi-genre author Lindsay Cummings comes a new serialized space opera, full of action, intrigue, and
steamy star-crossed romance.

Perfect for fans of Hugh Howie, Sarah J Maas, and Beth Revis.

Now as both a newcomer to the YA genre and a fan of science fiction, I was already excited about the release of this book. What really sets this
book apart is that there is no set good guys in this story. The protagonist of this story, Androma, the Bloody Baroness, is a feared outlaw who
isn’t afraid to get bloody and kill to accomplish her goals. While there are even deadlier threats in the galaxy, she isn’t ruled by an overwhelming
sense of honor or duty, but rather very real human emotions and complicated histories that have shaped her into the person she now is. It was
refreshing to see a predominately female driven book that showcased how men aren’t needed to have an action-fueled adventure.

The pace of this first story is very fast, and the complicated history the characters bring to the book immediately hook the reader in, to the
point where I finished this book in one day and am ready for a second go. In just a few pages, the reader immediately gets a sense of just how
large this galaxy is, and the bubbling conflict that is sure to consume it with just one conflict. Overall, this is one of the most promising new
YA series that both YA readers and science fiction readers will want to consume now. By the end of the story, readers will be eager to sink their
teeth into The Androma Saga #2, so be sure to pick up your copies of Zenith (The Androma Saga #1) now and help support authors Sasha Alsberg and
Lindsay Cummings to get more of their incredible work out in stores now! Be on the lookout for an official video review on my channel, Avina
