A brutal civil war leaves a kingdom open to dangers from dark forces in author Alpha Four’s “Far Forest Scrolls Earth on Fire Ocean of Blood,” the fourth book in the Far Forest Scrolls series.
The Synopsis

The League of Truth finds itself in a life and death struggle before their quest truly begins. Trapped, they fight for survival between hordes of undead and fearsome humanoid tree creatures.
Pushed into civil war, the nations of Verngaurd descend into a series of devastating and fatal battles that leave the ground bloodied and in flames. Will Friar Pallium’s years of planning be enough to overcome the considerably larger army of nations arrayed against them? With an elaborate series of feints and ambushes planned, the only assured outcome is substantial death on both sides. With the Allies and the Confederacy focused on fighting each other, the Dark Warriors are all too happy to move in and conquer territory.
When the trials of their odyssey are finally revealed the League quickly discovers it will be longer, more strenuous, and infinitely more dangerous than they could have imaged. Bellae will have to face eccentric guardians of uncertain motives while struggling with the devastating loss of one of her companions—and her part to play in his tragic death.
This is the fourth book in the Far Forest Scrolls series.
The Review
Magicians, griffons, dwarves, elves, and so much more already populate this vast magical world, and yet the series ups the ante with the incorporation of even more creatures, such as hippogriffs and even the undead. The sheer volume of world-building in this narrative elevated the mythos and story beyond those of the first three entries in the series. The tension that builds as war erupts in the kingdom and the distrust amongst the various factions and former allies as these dark forces emerge and begin to attack made the journey even more perilous for the heroes.
The character dynamics shifted and grew in this story, both for the main characters and the supporting staff. The Friar and his work to stave off this now inevitable war and the limits he is pushed to as a leader were great to see come to life on the page, and the deeper character growth of Bellae as she not only steps into her role but endures some of her toughest challenges and fights yet in the series will keep the reader in both suspense and anticipation as the journey finally turns towards the prophecy at the heart of this series.
The Verdict
A story filled with drama, suspense, and more and more action than ever before in the series, author Alpha Four’s “Far Forest Scrolls Earth on Fire Ocean of Blood” is a must-read epic fantasy and magic-based action and adventure read. The shocking twists and turns, the exploration of grief and its impact on the heroes after loss, and the emotional depth it brings as these characters face epic battles and overwhelming odds will keep readers on the edge of their seats as they head into the concluding chapter of this series. About the Author

Alpha Four, or A4, is an enigmatic figure from the turn of the first millennium of the Common Era (C.E.). Although the formality of his education is uncertain, we know he studied military history, martial skills, languages, history, philosophy, mathematics, religion, and wrote extensively. Evidence suggests he was a ranking courtier and military advisor in the turbulent environment that was England one thousand years ago. He likely served in Æthelred II’s court (and possibly Sweyn I, the Danish sovereign who briefly sat on the English throne in 1013 C.E.).
