It is safe to say that no matter where you are in the world, addiction is a problem that many people struggle with, and yet finding solutions that work for everyone is not always easy. Just as some people learn in different ways, some people need help recovering from addiction in different ways, and the author does a brilliant job of offering a unique, data-driven solution. The author’s writing style is unique, and it feels both personable and educational, allowing readers to feel they are gaining true insight into the system the author has brought to the table.

Addiction can come in so many different forms, from substance abuse to food or various other forms, and being able to utilize this new system to hone in on both the science of addiction and the science of addiction recovery is wholeheartedly unique and important. The author provides readers with the details and expertise they bring to the table, allowing readers to feel they are both learning and engaging with the author on a personal level to better understand this process.

The Verdict

Thoughtfully written, engaging, and insightful, author Dan Shreve’s “Triple Modular Recovery” is a must-read non-fiction book on addiction and recovery, drawing on scientific research and data to support this new system. While the 12-step program might work for some, the human mind is wired differently for everyone, which is what helps make individuals, and this new system that the author has created breathes fresh new life into the recovery process and inspires hope both for those who are in recovery and the loved ones who are supporting those in recovery, making this a very important book. Dan Shreve, MBA, PMP, lives next to a friggin’ volcano in Washington state with his beautiful wife and two acceptable sons. For over 20 years he has been a project manager and expert in process improvement, the latter of which current addiction recovery treatments desperately need.
