This was a compelling and engaging paranormal romance-meets-suspense thriller. The author does a fantastic job of world-building in this book, delving into how the protagonist develops a connection to the paranormal and adding depth to the narrative by introducing a potential murder-mystery element, giving readers a story they can really sink their teeth into.
While the rich imagery in the author’s writing style and the thrilling supernatural elements introduced into the plot are definitely standout moments in the book, it is the characters themselves that become the foundation on which this novel shines. Seeing how the protagonist is drawn into this mystery and the supernatural elements around her, while also introducing strong character dynamics as the stranger becomes increasingly integral and intertwined with the protagonist’s life, allows the reader to truly connect and become invested in the journey they both go on.
THE VERDICT
Mysterious, haunting, and thoughtfully entertaining, author Nafsika Antypas’s “Ghosted MD: The Awakening” is a must-read supernatural thriller that blends paranormal romance and mystery. The twists and turns of the story draw the reader in, and the gripping character development and dynamics keep the reader invested and eager to delve deeper into the world the author has crafted.
