THE REVIEW
This fast-paced story was a beautiful blend of romantic suspense and action thriller. The author’s powerful imagery immediately immersed the reader in the action, and the hidden agendas and shocking revelations each character brought to the table left a lasting impression as the story progressed at a fast pace.
The heart of the story, of course, was in the character dynamics at work. The enemies-to-lovers trope is strong in the story, as the two main characters start out as rival assassins, one of whom has been tasked with assassinating the other, but their story and their encounter with one another quickly blossom into something neither would have suspected. The characters and the story itself delve into the morally grey areas of life, and the struggle between doing the job one was hired for and following one’s heart becomes a central struggle that the characters wholeheartedly embrace.
THE VERDICT
Although shorter, this action-packed, daring romantic thriller is a compelling novel. Author Chris Neo’s “Assassin’s Love” is a powerful story that infuses witty dialogue with heartfelt, emotional character development and action-packed scenes that will elevate readers’ adrenaline and keep them on the edge of their seats to see how it ends.
