A tale of revenge takes center stage as new friends bring new insights to author J. Traveler Pelton’s “The Oscillating Mind,” book two in the Many Minds Mystery Series.

This is book two of the Many Minds series, a group of fiction books I am writing highlighting mental illness and hoping to lower the stigma associated with being differently gifted.
THE REVIEW
This was a powerful, engaging, cozy-mystery-meets-suspense-and-dynamic-drama narrative. The author does a great job of building on the character development and world-building of the first book, naturally infusing new characters and storylines into the narrative to keep readers, both returning and new, fully engaged. The immersive experience readers get from the powerful imagery in their authors writing style allows them to feel transported into this story naturally while also developing an emotional attachment to this cast of characters.
The author struck a balance between powerful, thematic storytelling and suspenseful mystery, and the mystery vibes were incredible to see come to life on the page. Understanding mental health and exploring not what mental health struggles can take away from a person, but instead fully embracing the differences that make someone with mental health struggles so unique, is a refreshing change of pace in the story. Featuring a cast of characters, each with their own unique struggles, and yet showcasing the depth and complexity of their characters helps solidify the reality of mental health struggles overall, stepping away from preconceived notions that anyone with a mental health disorder is somehow on the outside of society, but instead fully embraced members of their communities. This added a rich layer of atmospheric world-building and emotional storytelling to the mystery elements in this revenge tale.

Dynamic, compelling, and thoughtfully entertaining, Author J Traveler Pelton’s “The Oscillating Mind” is a must-read cozy mystery meets suspense and mental health drama, and a great entry in this powerful series. The twists and turns of the overall narrative, and the rich, complex character development that engage readers and allow them to connect with the cast, bring the cast to life on the page while resonating with audiences and leaving them eager for more from this incredible author. About the Author
J. Traveler Pelton was born in West Virginia in the last century. She lives on a small farm with her husband, 7 alpaca, chickens, 5 Pomeranians, 14 canaries and tolerates T-Bears Siamese cats and irascible parrot Giz. She loves to find out what all her friends are studying. She is the mother of six adults, a grandmother of eight, a great-grandma of 1, a Clinically Licensed Independent Social worker, a retired adjunct professor of social work at her local university and an avid reader. She studies science, technology, Biblical studies, and human behavior. She is quick to draw parallels between different fields of thought and weave the ideas into a cohesive ideology that is at once practical, usable, and thoughtful. Her books are the result of blending her life experiences with bureaucracy, studying science and nature, counseling, and faith. She greatly enjoys the intersection of fantasy and possibility and hopes you enjoy it as well. We will see you on the other side of the imagination tree.
Her co-author of the Clan Falconer fantasy series is her grandson T-Bear. T Bear Pelton is a self-proclaimed gamer, a Christian active in his home church, a Native American, a storyteller, and a novice blacksmith.
