One of the most beautiful aspects of music is not only its ability to transcend multiple genres, but also that, no matter the language, audiences can respond to it if it truly resonates with them, even if they don’t speak the same language. While lyrics are a powerful and important part of music, it is truly the raw emotion that the music imparts to the audience and the way that the audience interprets those emotions, as well as feeling a deeper connection to the rhythms and instrumentals in those songs, that makes a song or album really resonate with people.

That is what fascinated this reviewer with artist Marco De Luca, an Italian singer/songwriter from Atri in the province of Teramo, who has released a brand new album, titled “La Stagione Decisiva”. Originally debuting his music in the 1990s with the band Sine, which featured songs loosely inspired by the band The Cure, the artist has since gone solo, releasing a couple of albums that delve into 80s synth rock as well as pop-rock tones. What makes this new album stand out is how the artist continues to explore these two genres while also incorporating more keyboard sounds.

While the language barrier does play a role in knowing the full lyrics, what makes this album so unique is the feeling audiences get from listening to each track. As of stepping into an 80s film, each track plays those melodic synth wave vibes with fast-paced guitar, riffs and lighter base tones and harmonious vocals that speak to a more pop rock edge. The keyboard tones infused into each track of this album brings a newer element that both returning fans and newcomers alike will be able to appreciate, the instrument perfectly blending with the rest of these incredible instrumental performances to set an atmosphere of excitement and nostalgia that audiences will instantly be able to connect with. BIO:

Marco De Luca, an italian singer-songwriter from Atri in the province of Teramo, made his debut in the 1990s with the group Sine, with whom he performed his own music and covers of The Cure, a band that was a great inspiration to him. At the beginning of 2000, his group split up and he continued his solo career, cutting down on live performances and focusing on writing new songs. Thus, in 2006, he released STANZE REMOTE, an experimental album with 80s new wave sounds, self-produced and created entirely by himself in his home studio. In 2008, he released the EP DUE, another self-production, created together with other musicians, which features him on vocals, guitars and computer arrangements together with a bassist, drummer and percussionist. The album tends more towards pop with a more open and catchy sound and has been broadcast on several radio stations. In 2012, Canzoni Inedite was released, consisting of some songs created in different periods, collected in an album that sounds more singer-songwriter. In 2024, his new album LA STAGIONE DECISIVA was released, which differs from his previous works for its greater use of keyboards in all songs. The album is available on all digital stores.
