Tell us a little bit about yourself. How did you get into writing?

I started writing based on a little bit of boredom and a little bit of nostalgia. Looking back over my experience with anorexia, I realized there was a story to tell. This passion for recreating a fictionalized view of that time in my life, the fear, frustration, and angst, but also hope that grew out of that time, I developed a passion for writing that lead me to create three more series.

What inspired you to write your book?

The Perfect standalone romance series is centered around a group of friends in search of their happily-ever-afters. Perfect Secrets is my most recent release. A friend of mine struggling with recent breakup challenged me to write her perfectly-ever-after. It’s a bit inspired by a real-to-life person, but goes off script a bit. 😉 Elle and Tanner are both reeling from recent losses. And even though the work together and shouldn’t be dating are magnetically drawn to each other. Enter Tanner’s mom and everything goes sideways!

What theme or message do you hope readers will take away from your book?

I hope readers will see that even when things seem their darkest there are quite possibly silver linings, rainbows, and brighter days right around the corner.

What drew you into this particular genre?

I love the romance genre with its perpetual happily-ever-after stories. My romance is fade-to-black/closed-door romance so you get a bit of spice. What you’ll also get is heaps of emotional, true-to-life, and drama-fueled plots. I love not being able to predict where a story is going or how a couple will find their happily-ever-after so I like throwing curve balls at my readers.

If you could sit down with any character in your book, what would you ask them and why?

Elle of Perfect Secrets works three jobs even though she’s not supposed to be working any extra jobs based on her 9-5 employment. Why, why, why? Couldn’t she just babysit and get paid in cash?

What social media site has been the most helpful in developing your readership?

I love being on Instagram. It’s so fun to find reviewers and reader events. And I love making trailer and teaser videos.

What advice would you give to aspiring or just starting authors out there?

If you love writing, do it. Also think about your goals. There are so many paths to being an author and knowing how to get where you want to be will increase your enjoyment of the journey.

What does the future hold in store for you? Any new books/projects on the horizon?

I’m writing the 6th book in the Perfect standalone romance series, potentially entitled My-Not-So-Perfect-Cop, and I’m loving creating these characters’ stories. The book includes another knew to me trope so I’m excited for readers to experience it.
