THE REVIEW

This was a strong, entertaining geopolitical-meets-techno thriller. The summary’s conspiracy-theory angle hooks readers immediately, drawing them in as the world unfolds and these conspiracies prove to be hidden realities for the protagonist to uncover. The detail and intrigue the author brings to the writing create a fully immersive experience, which is rare for a shorter novel.

The author develops this narrative by balancing intrigue and conspiracy with powerful world-building and character development. In particular, the protagonist, Jennifer Rock, is a strong lead whom readers can identify with emotionally and intellectually right off the bat. The way the narrative delves into the impact trauma and loss have on someone growing up, especially when they are part of such a tight family, is something many readers will be able to identify with, and the way this allows Jennifer to grow as a character and push the boundaries of the world she grew up in, making the larger global stakes feel more impactful, was compelling.

THE VERDICT

Detailed, thought-provoking, and highly engaging, Author Davide Franco’s “Genesis: Before The Noah Protocol” is a must-read geopolitical and tech thriller. Suspenseful and adrenaline-fueled, the novel captures strong character development and world-building while layering the mystery and intrigue of this global power shift and how it affects not only the protagonist but the world as a whole.
