The Synopsis

What is reality? Auditor Liam must unravel this mystery before reality itself unravels. And that’s all before masked zealots try to kill him.

THE REVIEW

This was a compelling blend of sci-fi and metaphysical fiction. The author does a fantastic job building a world that hones in on strong character dynamics and fully developed mythology, bringing this world of AI to life in vivid detail. The story’s compelling nature lets the author’s descriptive writing fully immerse readers in this mind-bending thriller, and the balance of large-scale universal storytelling with personal, intimate character development draws the reader in further and further.

The most compelling aspect of this novel, however, was the thought-provoking themes and story elements it explored. On the one hand, the author touches on the growing role of artificial intelligence and what it means when AI can lie and deceive humanity despite its programming, and how the world would respond to such a threat. With our world mirroring this topic so vividly, the narrative feels even more important. Yet at its heart, the novel also delves into metaphysical philosophy, from the true nature of reality to what truth even means, and whether some truths are better left unsaid.

THE VERDICT

Action-packed, compelling, and entertaining, Author David Hammons’s “Artificial Truth” is a must-read sci-fi techno-thriller that blends metaphysical fiction. The story’s twists and turns, thought-provoking themes, and powerful character development draw readers in and keep them invested, and the shocking final chapter will leave them on the edge of their seats and questioning everything they thought they knew by the book’s end.
