A mysterious diary takes a researcher and others on a journey into the past as myth and reality collide in author Ethan Noar’s “Beyond the Silence.”
The Synopsis

A forgotten diary.
A missing researcher.
A truth the world was never meant to remember.
When Elysia Althea receives the secret diary of Selene, a brilliant researcher who vanished while pursuing a mystery no one was willing to believe in, she thinks she is holding nothing more than the fragments of an investigation left unanswered.
Instead, she finds a trail.
Ancient symbols. Impossible connections. Clues buried in history. Every page draws her closer to a name the world has turned into myth—but perhaps the truth behind that name never disappeared at all.
On the other side of the world, in Melbourne, Aiden Shade is haunted by a presence he cannot explain. The face of a woman resurfaces unchanged across the centuries. An artifact inherited from his father begins to react to his presence. And beneath the weight of a loss he has never truly overcome, something ancient seems to be calling to him.
Their investigations were never meant to intersect.
But Selene’s diary, Aiden’s inheritance, and Elysia’s erased past are leading them toward the same buried truth:
Atlantis was not lost.
It was hidden.
And the forces that condemned it to silence
are already watching them.
Beyond the Silence is the first book in The Children of Memory series: an adventure of mystery, myth, and science fantasy about lost civilizations, forbidden memories, and a bond that can transcend time.
The Review
This rich, compelling speculative fiction novel blends fantasy and mythology. The world-building and mythos the author brought to life on the pages of this book were nothing short of astonishing, and the rich imagery found in the author’s writing style created an almost cinematic experience in the reader’s mind, immersing them in the narrative and the world as they delve deeper and deeper into the emerging fantasy world-building and advanced sciences beyond human comprehension.
At the heart of this action-packed world of suspense and mystery, the author developed a deeply human narrative driven by heartfelt, connective character dynamics. The shifting perspectives across chapters gave readers a broader understanding of the narrative through multiple characters’ points of view, and seeing how they connected and came to life on the page was fascinating. Although the protagonist captures readers’ attention early on, two characters who really stood out and added to both the mystery and the emotional depth of the story were Aiden and the mysterious figure known as ERA. These two figures share a shocking connection and leave readers eager to learn not only who they are to one another, but how their bond has shaped events throughout history and this book.
The Verdict
Compelling, thrilling, and entertaining, Author Ethan Noar’s “Beyond the Silence” is a must-read speculative-fiction-meets-fantasy novel. Filled with twists and turns that will leave readers on the edge of their seats, and with a great balance of deep mythology and rich character development that leaves an emotional impact, this novel will resonate with readers and keep them eager for more of this author’s fantastic work.
