It is safe to say that right now, people around the world see how things are being run and the events playing out, and they feel not only fear but anger at the injustices and hatred being poured into the world. While political divides and clashing ideologies have grown more vocal and heated in recent years, many still want to find common ground and return to a time when peace and love felt like a real possibility.
That is the drive behind artist The Heard Eye and their latest single, “Cry For Love.” Released on October 9th to commemorate the birthday of the late great John Lennon, the single carries on the famed artist’s legacy of music driving home a message of unity by touching on the pulse of the anger and outrage fueling so many people these days and becoming their voice through a funk-rock hit. The song’s title and chorus speak to its powerful themes, highlighting how so many people not only feel a deep need to be loved and love in return, but also recognize that same need in others.
Funky and compelling, the artists behind this hit track continue to live up to their legacy as these San Francisco artists come together in this band to share their journey of reinvention and unity, backing up the song’s message. The soulful, almost emotional vocal delivery pairs well with the jazz and blues undertones in the bass and drum work. The hook comes in the guitar solo, which highlights a powerful collaboration with San Francisco artist Tom Finch of Big Brother and the Holding Company, fueling both the song’s high energy and its urgent message of hope and love in turbulent times.
