Dark forces threaten to destroy already fragile alliances in author Alpha Four’s “Far Forest Scrolls Hourglass of Destruction,” the second book in the Far Forest Scrolls series.
The Synopsis

Hope and jubilation are transient riding compassions as the Knights and squires depart Castle Liberum for a tournament of nations. Those spurious emotions quickly evaporate, as a journey meant to unite the fracturing realms of Verngaurd promptly turns into a battle for survival. Dark creatures spread roots of death and deceit, infecting ancient alliances, intent on turning the soil red with civil war. Can the Knights fight through the gathering enemy forces and turn back the coming storm before the sands of time run out?
This is the second book in the Far Forest Scrolls series.
The Review
This was a roller-coaster thrill ride. The epic fantasy series continues to wow readers with iconic, legendary battles, mixed with a more personal, character-driven narrative. The way the story opens with the continuation of the fight against the Watchers, the ways the Dwarves, the Knights, and their squires all come together, and the descriptive strategy of the battle stay with readers long after the story ends. The author’s intense world-building throughout this narrative made the world feel both uniquely fantastic in its magic and very real and historical in context.
The stellar character-driven narratives and the mythos are fantastic in this story. The introduction of the mysterious leader of the dark forces, a man in a white robe, who emerges early on in the narrative, sets a chilling reminder of the power the heroes face and the danger this war poses. The theme of this narrative was change, and how it is not only inevitable but also valued for its wisdom and guidance in life. The way change impacts this core cast of characters as they face hardship, epic battles, and possibly even losses makes the story flow and the narrative compelling.
The Verdict
Harrowing, adventurous, and entertaining, author Alpha Four’s “Far Forest Scrolls Hourglass of Destruction” is a must-read epic fantasy. Game of Thrones-style politics and action blend with a more traditional Lord of the Rings-style fantasy genre that incorporates magic and otherworldly creatures alike in an almost historical setting and tone. This book will keep readers on the edge of their seats as the shocking events change the course these characters walk as the series progresses. If you haven’t yet, be sure to grab your copy today!

About the Author

Alpha Four, or A4, is an enigmatic figure from the turn of the first millennium of the Common Era (C.E.). Although the formality of his education is uncertain, we know he studied military history, martial skills, languages, history, philosophy, mathematics, religion, and wrote extensively. Evidence suggests he was a ranking courtier and military advisor in the turbulent environment that was England one thousand years ago. He likely served in Æthelred II’s court (and possibly Sweyn I, the Danish sovereign who briefly sat on the English throne in 1013 C.E.).
