This was a profoundly rich and compelling collection of poetry. The Victorian era is a rich and engaging cultural and historical period, and the author’s use of imagery and compelling writing style really brings out the vibrancy this era was known for. The beautiful illustrations help highlight the subject matter of these poems, and the sophisticated humor and wit the author plays with in each home make this a dynamic collection.
