There is something to be said for music that takes you back to a bygone era. The kind of music that speaks to an entire generation, with great, almost psychedelic rhythms that transport audiences back to a time when music was both fun and soulful.
That is the atmosphere that artist Joe Boris brings to the new hit single “Hoochi Coochi Coo.” This funk rock track is a blast from the past with a classic rock sound that tells the story as old as time, as it delves into the magic and whirlwind feeling a guy gets when they meet that special someone. The artist’s powerful, gritty vocals really capture that funk-and-psychedelic-rock atmosphere, immersing audiences in a specific mindset and a more lighthearted mood.
One element of this track that really stood out, and hasn’t been heard in a long time, is the amazing guitar work that accompanies it. The guitar’s rhythm and beat felt like a beautiful blend of legendary guitarist Santana, with a bit of Peter Frampton and the Grateful Dead rolled into one performance. The track brings a tone that feels like stepping back into the late 90s/early 2000s New York City atmosphere, and the gritty, raspy vocals blend well with the soulful music to create a track readers can sit back and rock to time and time again.
