1) Tell us a little bit about yourself. How did you get into writing?

Writing. My first thoughts that I should write a book occurred when I was studying in my late teens in Manchester, UK. I believed that if I wrote the subjects from a whole years course they could be beneficial to others. At that time the our bible was a book written by our lecturer W.B.McKay. Shafted – The Beginning. This is the first published book in a tetralogy. The other three should be published in sequence, commencing later this year.

2) What inspired you to write your book?

The idea that I could write crime fiction for the first two books came after I learned of a savage murder that intrigued me.

3) What theme or message do you hope readers will take away from your book?

Theme or message. There was neither of the two as I wrote. My stories are written for enjoyment by others in their leisure hours. Passion to avenge a horrific act can be considered the theme through the first two editions.

4) What drew you into this particular genre?

Crime fiction is the genre and it fitted exactly what I had in mind to write.

5) If you could sit down with any character in your book, what would you ask them and why?

If I were to ask a question of any character in the book it would be the adopted daughter of the lawyer. I would ask if her if passion for revenge was justifiable.

6) What social media site has been the most helpful in developing your readership?

Writing is my passion and I don’t have time for social media.

7) What advice would you give to aspiring or just starting authors out there?

Advice to aspiring authors. You have to be totally dedicated to the task. Storytelling comes naturally to some, others have to work hard to put their thoughts into print. You may need to plan and phase your story, research may well be necessary, but do it thoroughly. Storytelling is a task of dedication and many long hours so you need to be prepared.

8) What does the future hold in store for you? Any new books/projects on the horizon?

My work on the tetralogy is down to the last book that I am well into, but now I have to decide how it will end. At the moment publishing two editions following Shafted – The Beginning is taking preference.
